Return of AHA Newsletters

The AHA has resumed sending out the ECC Beat and I’ve received a new AHA Health and Safety Newsletter.  I will be forwarding these to everyone as I receive them.  If you prefer to not receive them, or if you are already receiving them, let me know so I won’t be sending you extra email you don’t want.

New Equipment Demo

WorldPoint has come out with their own brand of manikins, CPR Taylor and Baby Tyler.  We have scheduled a live in-person and Zoom demo on Wednesday 5/25 at 4pm at the Training Center.  For a preview, here’s a link and password to videos of their new manikins:

https://vimeo.com/showcase/wpp

The password to view if prompted is: WPP (Which stands for WorldPoint Products!)

Here is the link to join on Zoom if you can’t make it in-person:

Training supply discounts

Have you set up a WorldPoint account linked to our Training Center account?  By doing so we can all share the Training Center discount and over time our discount will increase.  We have also set up discounted pricing through AED Superstore.

No new official updates for COVID-19 Guidance from the AHA

With the changes in CDC and local guidelines I called our AHA account rep to see if there are updates coming.  There are no new official updates other than what is posted at https://cpr.heart.org/en/resources/coronavirus-covid19-resources-for-cpr-training.  The answer was “follow your local protocols”.  The last guidance we had was separating students by at least 3 feet, minimizing sharing equipment, allowing students to simulate giving breaths, and changing manikin lungs and faces between students.  My suggestion is to do what you think is best for the group you are training. If no one is masked there is no reason to simulate giving breaths, all course participants should do so.  However, make sure no one shares masks and has individual training valves and training barrier sheets. Space equipment and participants as to what works for their location.  I still think it is prudent to limit the number of participants sharing equipment.

Training Information

CPR Enroll has released a major software update. The website looks quite a bit different!

  • When submitting rosters click on Administration and then click on Submit Paperwork on the right side of the screen.
  • Enter info and upload the same as before.

Ordering your eCards is VERY different and is not as intuitive.

  • Click on Store.
  • Click on the cart icon for the type of eCards you need (check mark on cart will change to an X).
  • Your screen will not change or advance, you need to scroll to the top of the page to click on the cart icon.
  • On the next screen you’ll enter your eCard quantities and then you’ll need to scroll down some more to enter your credit card info.

I apologize that the ‘store’ is not as user friendly as it was before.  BTW – I have everyone set up in a simplified version to just enter paperwork and order eCards.  If you want to use more features like setting up class scheduling for your classes please let me know and I can turn those features on for you.

Quite a few of us took a break from training, but this Spring is gearing up to be busy!  Summer rec and youth programs are posting full summer programming schedules. Vacation spots and seasonal businesses are getting ready to re-open for the summer. They all have staff and volunteers who will need CPR and First Aid training.  This is a good time to reach out to these organizations and businesses in your community to schedule training before their season begins in May or June.

I am potentially holding a large class in the Meredith, NH area on a weekday or two in May.  I would need help from 2-3 instructors and possibly borrow some equipment. If you are available and able to help out please let me know.

Have questions?  Let us know!

Take care,
