Other important news from the AHA
If you joined in on the TF webinar yesterday, they mentioned several important things.
All pandemic based course changes/guidance are now discontinued. The official AHA memo was due to come out this past week, but so far has not. It should be out shortly though.
What does this mean? This means we give breaths, we can have students share equipment, basically… back to normal for teaching BLS, CPR AED, and First Aid.
One of the presenters in the webinar misquoted the PAM. There was text on a slide that was copied/pasted from the PAM but it was posted out of context without the preceding text. The quote was that Training Centers had to ensure that instructors had at least 3 students in a class and that 3 was the minimum number.
If you read the PAM (currently still in the Instructor Network) is it is an example of what a Training Center could require.
What that means for you … you can teach a 1 person class. For BLS this means that you, the instructor, is the 2nd person for 2-person skills. The High-Performing Teams activity is now optional so you do not need to run it if you do not want to or if you don’t have enough participants. |
