Print Version of the BLS Provider Manual in Spanish Now Available

We’re excited to announce the launch of the print version of the BLS Provider Manual (Spanish), Product #25-1196, now available for purchase on ShopCPR. The new edition will be offered at a suggested retail price of $19.65 and is available for the U.S. domestic market only.

As part of this transition, the current Spanish BLS Provider Manual (Product #20-2308) has been discontinued effective August 4, 2026.

One Million Compressions, 10,000 Future Lifesavers: Thank You for Showing Up and Saving Lives

Over the past two months, the American Heart Association brought Hands-Only CPR training directly to thousands of soccer fans in five US cities—because of you! This incredible Training Network were among the volunteers who showed up to live the mission this summer, contributing to more than 7,500 volunteer hours leading to more than 1 million compressions!

More than 350,000 cardiac arrests occur outside of hospitals in the United States each year, and while immediate CPR can double or even triple a person’s chance of survival, many people still hesitate to act, often because they lack training.

More than 10,000 participants across 5 US cities have learned to recognize cardiac arrest and respond using the two simple steps of Hands-Only CPR: call 911 and push hard and fast in the center of the chest.

The American Heart Association’s presence at FIFA World Cup fan events represents the largest public Hands-Only CPR engagement in the Mobile CPR Unit’s history and serves as one of the most visible efforts to advance the Heart Association’s Nation of Lifesavers™ movement, which aims to double survival rates from cardiac arrest by 2030 by empowering more people to act in an emergency.

 Saved Twice: How CPR and AEDs Helped Kyle Defy the Odds

At age 39, Kyle Hartley was wrapping up his regular 6 a.m. workout when he suddenly collapsed from cardiac arrest. Quick action by his gym community helped save his life. Classmates, including two nurses, immediately began Hands-Only CPR while staff retrieved an AED and delivered lifesaving care until EMS arrived. Doctors later discovered a 99% blockage in a major artery, leading to a heart attack that required a stent, weeks of hospitalization and a long road to recovery.

After slowly rebuilding his strength and returning to the gym, Kyle faced another unimaginable setback more than two years later when he suffered a second cardiac arrest during a workout. Once again, a trained bystander stepped in with Hands-Only CPR and an AED, helping save his life. Today, Kyle is back to exercising, supported by his girlfriend, an implanted defibrillator and a renewed focus on his health. His story is a powerful reminder that CPR-ready bystanders and accessible AEDs can make the difference between life and death.  2025 Guidelines Update Reminders

As the Training Network continues implementing the 2025 American Heart Association Guidelines for Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and Emergency Cardiovascular Care (ECC), now is a good time to review Instructor files and ensure all required documentation is complete and up to date in accordance with the Program Administration Manual (PAM) (Atlas log-in required).

Key Compliance Reminders:

• All Instructors must complete the American Heart Association 2025 Guidelines for CPR and ECC update(s) for each discipline they teach.
• Training Centers must maintain documentation of completed 2025 Guidelines updates in the Instructor’s file for every discipline the Instructor is authorized to teach.
• Regularly review Instructor records to ensure all discipline-specific requirements, updates, and supporting documentation are current and readily available for compliance reviews.

Keeping Instructor records complete helps support program quality, Instructor readiness, and compliance throughout the Training Network.
