Spanish BLS Course Materials Coming Soon

The American Heart Association is pleased to share that updated BLS materials that reflect the latest science from the 2025 American Heart Association Guidelines for CPR and ECC will be available in Spanish on June 16. These courses provide healthcare professionals with essential lifesaving skills, including high-quality CPR, effective ventilations, and AED use during emergencies.

Beginning June 16, 2026, all Training Centers must use and purchase only the 2025 Spanish BLS materials. Unused 2020 Spanish BLS inventory will automatically transfer to the 2025 version. The BLS Instructor Manual eBook (Spanish), BLS Provider Manual eBook (Spanish), and BLS Provider Course Videos: Digital & Streaming (Spanish) will be available on June 16, 2026, with a print version of the Spanish BLS provider manual expected later this summer.

Please stay tuned for an official launch notice, with additional information and links, on June 16.

New Podcast Episode on How to Expand
Your Stroke Recognition Skills with ESLS®

The American Heart Association’s Essential Stroke Life Support® (ESLS®) course is designed to help healthcare professionals rapidly recognize and respond to stroke symptoms. This fully online, self-paced course uses interactive virtual patient simulations to strengthen confidence in early stroke detection and initial management, helping improve patient outcomes. The course is ideal for EMTs, nursing and medical students, home health providers, therapists and other healthcare professionals who may not regularly manage stroke patients.

In this Becker’s Healthcare podcast episode, Dr. Ivette Motola, professor of emergency medicine at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine and director of the prehospital and emergency healthcare division at the Gordon Center, and Harold Mayfield, Training Coordinator with Richmond Ambulance Authority, discussed how ESLS is helping improve stroke recognition, increase provider confidence and support faster response times during critical moments in patient care. A Becker’s Healthcare whitepaper is also available, highlighting the course’s innovative simulation-based training approach. Participants can earn Continuing Education (CE) credits and complete the course in approximately 2.5 hours. Through the end of 2026, customers can receive 10% off their ESLS® purchase through the American Heart Association Professional Education Hub® by using promo code HUB10 at checkout. Meet the 9-Year-Old Raising Awareness About AEDs and CPR

Nine-year-old Adeline Evelyn Dinin rarely goes anywhere without an AED by her side. Born with long QT syndrome, a heart condition that can cause dangerous irregular heartbeats, Adeline underwent heart surgery at just 7 days old and now carries the lifesaving device everywhere from school to dance class. Despite the challenges, Adeline lives life to the fullest and uses her social media platform, @AED__Girl, to raise awareness about CPR, AEDs, and heart health.

Adeline’s diagnosis not only helped save her life, it also led doctors to discover that her father, Aaron, had the same inherited condition. Today, both manage their heart health with medicine and medical devices while continuing to live active lives. Their inspiring story is a powerful reminder of the importance of early diagnosis, CPR training and knowing where AEDs are located.

Instructor Material Requirements

As a helpful reminder, according to the American Heart Association’s Program Administration Manual (PAM), found under Instructor Material Requirements in the Policies and Procedures section, all Heart Association Instructors are required to have their own current copy of Instructor Manuals and Provider Manuals/Student Workbooks for each discipline they teach.

Please review the PAM regularly (Atlas log in required) for important information and updates.
